ABOUT ME

My students call me Mr. Cook but you can call me Ty.  I am a middle school science teacher in my 10th year of teaching.  I have co-taught six years of seventh grade life science, one year online math, and I will be in my third year teaching gifted science.  I share all of my classroom ideas, technology tips, engagement strategies, lessons, laughs and more.  My goal is to help other teachers in any way I can.  I started sharing my classroom journey on social media in 2018 and began my podcast, "A Class of Their Own" in 2019.  I have presented for the Get Your Teach On and Champions for Science conferences on topics ranging from science engagement, classroom community, and technology.   One of my guiding quotes as a teacher is, "The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see."
